AVALON aims to design a secure, flexible, and high-speed (10–100 Gbps) wireless communication system that works reliably beyond the optical line of sight, up to 100 meters, with near-zero delay. For the realization of this vision, a novel system model will be developed and analysed that will contain physical, medium access control (MAC) and resource management (RM) layer design considering the particularities of the optical band. A novel theoretical framework and ML based methods for integrated communication and sensing will support the creation of advanced underwater optical wireless networks for military use.
